Hi, I’m Lesli Garvett.

 

I attended American International College and received a B.A. in Elementary Education, however I never taught a day in my life.

 

Instead of teaching, I became a secretary In Massachusetts for four years where I met my first husband. I soon started a career in advertising sales with "The Middlesex News" in Framingham, Ma. We moved to Florida in 1991 and I joined "The Miami Herald." After my divorce in 1993, I started a new career with FedEx in outside sales in Florida in 1995.

 

I met my second husband and relocated from Key Largo, Fl. To Hickory, NC in 2006. In 2016, I finished my 21 year career with FedEx.

 

It was after retirement that I finally had time to do the things I’ve always wanted to do..pickleball, kayaking, yoga (even earning a 200-Hour yoga instructor certification), auditioning for my first play, (getting the part of Flo in "Chapter Two" at Hickory Community Theater), and lastly painting.

 

It was under the guidance of Joe LaFone, a local folk artist in Hickory, that I learned how to paint, and have been painting ever since!
